My e-Justice space

In a number of Member States, individuals and legal persons already have online access to different public services offered online by the judiciary and public administrations. Such digital public services save time, can be accessed from anywhere and are available even in challenging situations.

In 2020, as a response to the COVID-19 pandemic and its impact on the justice field, the Commission undertook several initiatives to step up the digitalisation of justice. The Communication on Digitalisation of justice in the European Union, A toolbox of opportunities, adopted in December 2020, included the creation of this section, “My e-Justice Space”, on the European e-Justice Portal with the aim to facilitate access to various national digital public services in the justice area.

In this section, you will find relevant information and links to the following national digital public services:

  • possibility to lodge an application for legal aid;
  • compensation (electronic services which allow parties to directly introduce claims for damages);
  • initiation of a civil case online;
  • electronic service of judicial documents (possibilities for electronic service of documents from judicial authorities to the parties);
  • participation in judicial auctions;
  • access to mediation services;
  • company formation and access to information on companies; and
  • translation services (incl. machine translation and its legal impact).
